About Us

Dennis & Anita Lunt at Potala Palace, Lhasa, Tibet (but that's another story).

The effort to share our expeditions is a labor of love, to which some have responded, "Who are these people?"

We are explorers of ancient history. Over the last 30 years we journeyed to remote monasteries in China and researched myths, legends and folklore of sacred martial arts mountains.

We have experienced strange and intriguing episodes:

  • satellites being tasked to take pictures of remote monasteries from 280 miles high in the sky;

  • sitting around a picnic table with the leader of the indigenous religion of China, Taoism, to discuss martial arts history from 5,000 years ago.

Our Recipe:

  • An ounce of imagination.

  • A pound of endurance.

  • A spoonful of repetition.

  • A cup of tenacity.

  • Mix thoroughly with passion.

Then watch great synergy evolve!

If it was easy, it would have already been done.

If not us, then who?

If not now, then when?

Yes, it has taken many years to be ready to present our findings. But it is less about time and more about endeavoring to persevere. God does not call the equipped, God equips the called.

It is not even really about us. It is about whomever we can inspire to take the baton and run with it. While we expended time, energy and effort to blaze a trail, we realize that thousands of monks and pilgrims have walked those same paths for centuries.

This is a perspective. This is what was discovered. Enjoy the photographs, stories and documentaries.
